CHALLE NGES TO EVANGELIZATION IN AFRICA: TRIBALISM
Vol. 47, No. 3, September 2005
This issue of AFER highlights tribalism as a serious
challenge to evangelization today. Unfortunately, this evil has penetrated
the inner circles of the Church, thus, the religious and the clergy, giving
rise to serious conflicts and counter-witness in the mission of Christ.
Recommendations and suggestions have been given by the authors as a way
forward to eradicating tribalism in the universal Church. Price: US$ 3.00 (KShs 200.00) |

AMECEA 15TH PLENARY: RESPONDING TO CHALLENGES OF HIV/AIDS WITHIN THE AMECEA REGION Vol. 47, No. 4, December 2005 & Vol. 48, No. 1, March 2006 Challenged by the continuous decimation of human life by the pandemic, the 15th AMECEA Plenary concertedly sought for ways and means of protecting and preserving the lives of the Family of God against HIV/AIDS in the Region and beyond. This was done through the sharing of experiences and the reinforcement of the sensitization of people about HIV/AIDS, whose cure is still elusive. The 15th AMECEA Plenary admitted that HIV/AIDS is indeed a challenge to the Church and society in Africa and that solutions to this pandemic must come from within Africa itself. The Church in the region was challenged further to accept and care for its HIV/AIDS infected clergy, religious men and women and the laity, and be on the forefront in condemning any kind of stigmatization of the infected persons.
